What is a zine?A zine/ fanzine is a collection of great art and writing that highlight particular character(s) or relationships. It can be a physical copy, digital copy, or both.Will this zine be for free, for profit , or for charity ?This a free digital zine.Will this zine be SFW , NSFW or both ?Both.Are there any content restrictions ?Not at all ! (As long as it sticks to the theme) However, pieces must be tagged appropriately with the necessary trigger warnings and content warnings.19/11/21 update : Fem eiden is only allowed in F/F since eiden cannonically a gay man, making his counterpart a lesbian. Vise versaWill the number of zine contributors be selective?Nope ! As long as they are 18+ and are established artists / writers , they will be accepted.Will a portfolio be expected when applying for the zine ?Yes. Artist must submit 3 pieces of their finished artwork (published or unpublished).Meanwhile, writters must submit a writing sample (1K max) (published or unpublished).Submissions can be either SFW or NSFW. We will also ask for links to your A03 and/or social media pages to see if you have a standing body of work and are able to meet deadlinesWhat are the zine guidelines ?Artist :
Accepted artists will be allowed to submit an unpublished illustrations (2 max) To ensure the zine will be as uniform as possible, all pieces must be vertical format A4 size (300 dpi, RGB / CMYK)Tracing / edits to official artwork are NOT allowed. Please avoid directly copying any in-game scenes / symbols. (DO NOT include the Nu Carnival logo in any of your pieces.)Traditional drawing is allowed as long as a clean scan of the piece can be provided.Writters :
Accepted writters must submit one fic (min: 1000 words , max : 5000 words)Pieces must be unpublished work and not part of an existing seriesWill there be a beta reader ?Writing mods will be reading to check submissions for grammar and spelling errors (+originality of content) But writers can have an outside beta during the creation process.Do I need to have Discord?Yes. All contributors and mods must have a discord account. Discord will be the main platform for communication with contributors during the zine process.Can I post WIPs and/or my finished piece on my social media/or website?WIP sharing is only allowed among other contributors in the discord server. The finished piece(s) can be shared in social media/ao3 once the zine has been officially publishedBe sure to @ the zine !!!After finishing my zine piece, can I sell my piece as a print?Yes ! (once the zine is finished) but please remember the Nu Carnival Derivative Works guidelines: "The sale of goods is limited to small-scale individual or group activities." (NO MASS PRINTING)
